Dubai government launched SIRA at Intersec 2017. ITSEC CEO Amir Kolahzadeh warns organizations lack urgency in addressing cyber threats, placing them in a higher risk category.

Cyber-crime is a fast-growing threat to businesses and critical infrastructure in the UAE, yet many companies are ill-equipped to deal with security risks.
The Dubai government launched the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) at Intersec 2017.
Amir Kolahzadeh, CEO at ITSEC, said the UAE and GCC organizations lack of urgency to address threats places them in a higher risk category than counterparts worldwide.
Among the biggest threats are attacks on hospitals and health care systems. We believe that the health care system will be the number one attacked industry, said Kolahzadeh.
According to Cisco, by 2019 there will be a deficit of 1.5 million security practitioners.
